A girl named Lea awakens aboard a cargo ship with no memory of her past. A man called Sergey Asimov tells her that the key to recovering her lost memories is to play CrossWorlds, a sprawling massively multiplayer online game. Almost as soon as she enters, Lea is set upon by a mysterious figure known as the Blue Avatar and is forced to flee deeper into the game's world. There she befriends a fellow player named Emilie, and together the two set out to explore CrossWorlds, eventually joining a guild called the First Scholars.
