The overarching plot chronicles a desperate war for global stability, transitioning from a devastating biochemical crisis triggered by Vladimir Makarov and the "Five Knights" alliance to a modern era dominated by corporate espionage, proxy wars, and the sinister military ambitions of the Atlas Corporation.
